Coverage
Formats
See which extensions ICEPINE can handle by category: video to MP4, HEIC to JPG, audio to MP3, PDF to images, and more. Conversion stays on your device. “Supported” means typical files convert reliably; “Best effort” means narrower coverage or preview/synthesis — complex files may be slower or need a re-export first.
Video input
Write video as H.264 MP4, H.265 MP4, WebM, or crop to Animated GIF / Animated WebP (output max 30 seconds). Subtitles, HDR and extra audio tracks are usually not kept in full.
| Format | Status | Notes |
|---|
| MP4.mp4 | Supported | Most common — phones and the web play it everywhere. |
| M4V.m4v | Supported | Treated like MP4. |
| MOV / QuickTime.mov | Supported | Common from iPhone and cameras; unusual codecs take longer. |
| WebM.webm | Supported | Common for web and screen recordings; decoding depends on the browser. |
| MKV.mkv | Supported | Main video and audio convert; subtitles are usually dropped. |
| AVI.avi | Supported | Old camcorder files; rare codecs use the local engine and may be slower. |
| WMV.wmv | Supported | Legacy Windows video; typical files work, a few old codecs may fail. |
| FLV.flv | Supported | Early web video; usually re-encoded to H.264 MP4. |
| MPG.mpg | Supported | Discs and early exports; re-encoded with the local engine. |
| MPEG.mpeg | Supported | Same as MPG. |
| MPEG-TS.ts | Supported | TV recordings and live-stream slices. |
| M2TS.m2ts | Supported | Blu-ray-style container, same path as TS. |
| 3GP.3gp | Supported | Old phone recordings, written to a generic MP4. |
| 3G2.3g2 | Supported | Same family as 3GP. |
| OGV.ogv | Supported | Uncommon web video container; Theora and similar can decode. |
| RM.rm | Supported | RealMedia via the local engine (RV30/40 and similar); a few old codecs may fail. |
| RMVB.rmvb | Supported | Same RealMedia family as RM. |
Video output
| Format | Status | Notes |
|---|
| H.264 MP4.mp4 | Supported | Best compatibility; uses hardware acceleration when available. |
| H.265 / HEVC MP4.mp4 | Supported | Still a .mp4 file; usually smaller than H.264. |
| WebM VP9.webm | Supported | Good for the web; falls back to software VP9 (slower, still finishes). |
| Animated GIF.gif | Supported | Trim a span; output max 30s, default long edge 640, ~10 fps cap; auto-downgrades past ~50 MB. |
| Animated WebP.webp | Supported | Same span/duration limits as GIF; usually sharper and lighter. |
Image
For album exports, web images and design delivery. HEIC, TIFF, AVIF and more open locally and write to common formats.
Input
| Format | Status | Notes |
|---|
| PNG.png | Supported | Transparency and screenshots. |
| JPEG.jpg | Supported | Includes jpeg / jfif. |
| WebP.webp | Supported | Web-friendly and small. |
| BMP.bmp | Supported | Uncompressed bitmap; files are large. |
| GIF.gif | Supported | Still GIFs keep a decoded frame (usually the first); animation is not rebuilt. |
| AVIF.avif | Supported | Modern web image; decode and encode. |
| TIFF / TIF.tiff | Supported | Scans and print masters. |
| ICO.ico | Supported | Input only: reads one frame from common sizes. |
| HEIC / HEIF.heic | Supported | Input only: iPhone photos; HEIC is not written back. |
| SVG.svg | Supported | Can also be rasterized as an image source. |
| JPEG XL.jxl | Supported | Input only: newer efficient image format. |
| Photoshop PSD.psd | Best effort | Input only: reads the composite preview; missing composites or complex layers may fail. |
| TGA.tga | Supported | Input only: common in games and 3D exports. |
| APNG.apng | Supported | Input only: usually the first frame, no animation rebuild (like still GIF). |
| JPEG 2000.jp2 | Best effort | Input only: JP2 / J2K; complex files are best-effort. |
| CR2 / NEF / ARW / DNG.raw | Best effort | Input only: common camera RAW; large files may demosaic at half res, then try the embedded preview. |
Output
| Format | Status | Notes |
|---|
| PNG.png | Supported | Keeps transparency — icons and screenshots. |
| JPEG.jpg | Supported | Transparent areas get a white background. |
| WebP.webp | Supported | Common on the web and in chat. |
| BMP.bmp | Supported | Works in old software; files are large. |
| AVIF.avif | Supported | Often smaller at similar quality. |
| TIFF.tiff | Supported | Print and archival intermediates. |
Audio input
Export as MP3, M4A / AAC, OGG / WAV (lossless) / WMA; MIDI is synthesized with a general soundfont, then encoded.
| Format | Status | Notes |
|---|
| MP3.mp3 | Supported | Plays almost everywhere. |
| WAV.wav | Supported | Lossless PCM from recorders and DAWs. |
| FLAC.flac | Supported | Lossless compression — archive, then optionally MP3. |
| OGG / OGA Vorbis.ogg | Supported | Open container, common in games and on the web. |
| Opus.opus | Supported | Efficient for speech and low bitrates. |
| M4A / AAC.m4a | Supported | Common on Apple devices and podcasts. |
| AIFF / AIF.aiff | Supported | Lossless recording in the Apple ecosystem. |
| WMA.wma | Supported | Legacy Windows audio; typical files decode via the local engine. |
| AC-3.ac3 | Supported | Common movie tracks; decoded then written as MP3 / M4A / OGG. |
| AMR.amr | Supported | Old phone call recordings. |
| CAF.caf | Supported | iOS recording container. |
| MIDI.mid | Best effort | Rendered with a general soundfont then encoded; timbre may differ; about 10 minutes max. |
Audio output
| Format | Status | Notes |
|---|
| MP3.mp3 | Supported | Best for sharing and compatibility. |
| WAV (PCM).wav | Supported | Lossless extract/store — first choice for editing. |
| M4A (AAC).m4a | Supported | Good for phone libraries and podcasts. |
| OGG (Opus).ogg | Supported | Open, small — good for web and speech. |
